Today began rainy and not a good day in the mountains. So we decided to go and visit a local gorge or Klamm as they are called over here. The Liechtensteinklamm. It is very deep and narrow and the edges of the walls have been eroded by the force of the water flowing through the gorge. The noise of the water is almost deafening especially in so narrow and deep a ravine. Walkways have been made along the side of the gorge so that people can visit and appreciate the spectacle of the Liechtensteinklamm. And again not a lot of photos due to the amount of spray coming off the rushing water.
We were given by our host a free local tourist card which gives us entry to most local tourst activities at no cost. As well as this we also purchased for Euros50 a Salzburgerland Card. With these 2 cards, we are able to do/see most, if not everything that we want, at no cost. So it makes for a very cheap 11 days. We just get out the cards and decide which one we are going to do/see today. Even the mountain chairlifts are free. Today, entry to the Klamm was free and while we were in the area, decided to take one of the chairlifts (free) up to an area called Alpendorf. What an incredible view of the valley and surrounding mountains. We had great views going up in the chairlift but it got cloudy when we got to the top so no photos.Hoping the weather is ok for tomorrow as we are due for another hike.
